“I’m just always fascinated with the sky, and the stars at night. I just kinda recently moved to an area rural and in the country where I don’t have very much light pollution so we get these amazing sunsets, so I’m just like always running around with a camera. How many thousands of pictures of sunsets do you need? I know, I never go back and look at them either, just have them stocked up for later. But I’ve made a few paintings where I’ve tried to capture them, but it’s never the same. That’s the art. Why am I trying to paint the art? It feels like I’m trying to recreate a famous painting.”
