“Something that changed my life….toward the end of my career, as a law enforcement officer, I had a girl come into the lobby and ask for me…she asked me if I knew who she was and I said, ‘No.’  She said, ‘A long time ago, you sat down with me and you talked to me…and that talk changed my life.’  And after we were all done talking she asked, ‘Can I give you a hug?’ and I said, ‘Absolutely.’  It was an instance like that in a career that you see a lot of negative, but that one person came in and touched my heart.  And stuff like that makes the whole job worthwhile.”
