Make-A-Wish is an organization that most people across America have heard of, and most likely think that they’re doing something pretty awesome. The organization was founded in 1980 in Arizona by Frank Shankwitz, Scott Stahl, and Linda Bergendahl-Pauling. Make-A-Wish does exactly what their name is, they grant wishes to children with critical illnesses. This wishes range from meeting the guy who played Iron Man, to getting to travel to Disneyland. In fact, a wish is granted every 34 minutes! This is an organization that truly does make the world a better place for kids going through major issues.

Some interesting things about the organization that most people do not know about it are that they do not only help those with terminal illnesses or cancer, they have all sorts of things that can qualify for a wish. Another is that places like amusement parks, airlines, and other popular choices love having children choose them as their wish. They often have special treatments even for wishers and their families, whether it be a goodie bag, or even their own private place to stay. Clearly, the world wide organization has quite a few number of big fans who love to support them.

“I cannot even begin to explain how thankful I am to everyone with Make-A-Wish and everyone that was involved with making my wish come true.” This quote came from Kayla, who was able to meet Justin Bieber with her wish. Recently, Easton, a huge Bucks fan was able to go and sit courtside at a game. He met all the players on the team, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, reigning MVP of the league. The Bucks also signed Easton to a one day deal, making him an honorary member of the team. Ayden Rycenga also gave some insight into the foundation, as her older brother was actually given the opportunity to make a wish. “It really is an awesome organization. You can do literally anything with the wish.” Anything from traveling the world to meeting a celebrity is in the realm of possibility. Ayden’s brother chose to go hiking in the Colorado mountains with friends, all expenses paid. If given the opportunity, Ayden said she would love to volunteer at Make-A-Wish, showing what a great place it is.

Clearly, Make-A-Wish Foundation has changed many lives, and is an organization that really makes a difference in people’s lives.
