Financial Freedom means that a person has enough wealth to live on without working. Financially independent people have assets that generate income that is at least equal to their expenses. Income one earns without having to work a job is commonly referred to as “passive income.” This class is highly important subject everybody should know for the present and future on how to be financially stable for life and wealthy. Everybody should highly consider taking this class because its a skill that will change your life with the helpful skills of Dave Ramsey. Dave Ramsey is one of America’s most trusted sources for financial advice. His syndicated radio program, “The Dave Ramsey Show,” is the among the top five talk radio shows in the United States, and is heard by 13 million listeners each week on more than 600 radio stations, according to Ramsey’s website. I asked Mr. Schwalm his thoughts on why the class Financial Freedom was so important and he said, “Because it will change your life and make you a better person, but aside from that many people will graduate and they will understand English, math, history, but their knowledge of finance is so weak that this is a course that ties all those loose ends together and learn how to buy a home, buy a car, how to budget, how to spend money wisely, and know the responsibilities that come along with money.” I followed up with another question to Mr. Schwalm asking what lessons from the Dave Ramsey course are the most important and why? He responded, “I think budgeting and understanding the importance and the opportunities money can bring. I also think trying to stay debt free as possible, if you stay debt free your life dramatically changed by investing and being able to move that snowball in your direction of becoming wealthy.” I decided to venture out into the GHS student population and found one of my good friends Regan Heintz and asked her the same questions and her first response was, “I learned so much about how to take care of my money as well as investing them into stocks and everything else I need to know to be successful with money for life after high school. I enjoyed the course. I think it had a lot of really useful information that was super important I just get bored watching videos all the time but the information will stick with me!” Financial Freedom is a class that each bulldog should take if they get the opportunity. It is a class that helps people in their adult financial life.
