Senior executive board is an essential piece of many school events at Grandville High School. The group of elected seniors organize events such as the Senior Cookouts, Senior Dinner Dance, many Spirit Dances, book drives for Grandville elementaries and the GHS Toys 4 Tots drive. Besides the events that these students coordinate and run, members of this board put in countless hours to make these things happen.

Senior executive board has multiple meetings a month to make these events possible. “We plan and decorate the homecoming banner and hallway, we fundraise for the shirts by calling local companies and asking for spirit donations and sponsorships to help us pay for the shirts for kids at our school,” board member Tori Francis says. Finding the money to do these fun school occasions is half the battle. Without finding sponsorships and volunteers, the senior executive board would have to charge the students a lot more for the Senior Dinner Dance and spirit dances. One way that the exec board finds money is fundraising. They have held multiple car washes at a local bank in Grandville to raise money and they are currently selling the remaning Bulldog Strong T-shirts out of Senior Exec Board Advisor, Miss Wiest’s classroom.

Although it is a lot of work, members have tons of fun. “The best part about Exec Board is being able to work with energetic people,” Senior Exec Board President, Carolyn Lam mentions. They would all encourage younger kids to get involved with their grades Exec Board, as it is very rewarding.

GHS would not be the same fun school it is without the hard work and dedication of the Senior Executive Board as well as the Junior, Sophomore, and Freshman boards. They put in a lot of time and effort behind the scenes.
